New Website - New Video

We've been hard at work trying to get all the content ready to go live with our new 4120Design website. It took us some time to fill in all the descriptions and get testimonials from our clients, but we finally got it finished.

Take some time to look around the site. Check out the "Our Work" section to see some nice examples of our websites, video projects and print materials. To see what we can offer you or someone you know, go to the "Services" section. We've tried to list as many services that we can think of, but if you don't see something you want just contact us about it.

Also, if you get an extra free moment after checking out the design site, please take a look at our new video "Tell Your Story". It's a great testimonial driven mini-movie that will inspire others to tell their own stories.

4120 Office Construction

If you follow me on twitter (which I'm sure you don't), you would know that we just recently finished our new office space! I call it a "space" because that's the easiest way to describe the 250 square foot room we built as our office. There's just enough room for all three of us to fit comfortably. We are hugely blessed to finally have a place to call our own. If you have some extra time...check out some pics HERE.

Music Video Hits #1

I'm sure most of you know that other than church media, we do custom web, graphic and video work on the side. Recently we shot a music video for Washington Projects, they are a killer christian hip-hip brother and sister duo out of California. Very cool music. The song is called "You Are My World". The video we created for the them turned out great, and now has hit the top of the charts! It's #1 in the "Soul" category on the Gospel Music Channel. Pretty amazing!

The Quench Project

For those of you who haven't heard, I wanted to blog about a new project that I'm so happy FortyOneTwenty could be a part of. It's called The Quench Project, and it's a collection of best-selling Christian media being sold on one DVD to support a global cause. 100% of all the proceeds will go to Living Water International to help build wells in Africa. 13 Producers are donating some of their best products and coming together in hopes of making a difference in the world. All the distribution is being donated by Worship House Media, and all the disc manufacturing was donated by Crystal Clear CDs.

Echo Conference!

I just got to Dallas this afternoon. I'm here for Echo: the new church media and technology conference put on by the guys at Worship House Media, Collide and Igniter Media. It's being put on at the very impressive Watermark Church. I caught a glimpse of things to come during the run-through today...it's gonna be a good one!

The Washington Projects

We just rapped up a shoot with the christian hip-hop band The Washington Projects. The song in the video is called "You Are My World". We were blessed to find an amazing location in La Jolla Shores, and the weather was perfect. They wanted it cloudy...and it was. We'll post pictures of the shoot on flickr soon. When it's all edited and finished up, we'll post the final version on our design site and put a link up for that.

If you get a chance, check these guys out. They are very cool people, and really have a heart to serve God and make christian music that people might actually want to listen to. Oh, and they're brother and sister...just good music.

Rooted: Productions Photos

We've just finished production on a new mini-movie called "Rooted". It's shot and edited, we just need to get it online. We're hoping to get it up this week. If you have a couple of extra minutes in your day, check out our production shots HERE.

By the way...we just purchased a new 35mm adapter for our camera! This will allow us to use SLR lenses on our video camera...why should you care? Well, this will increase the quality of footage we can capture, and make everything look more like film. You might notice the difference in the "Rooted" mini-movie...and then again, you might not.

NAB / Vegas Pics

Last week I had the opportunity to hang out with some other church media producers in Vegas for the National Association of Broadcasters convention. It was great to meet and hang out with Tom Rice (eight20eight), Lee and Storme (eleven72) and Greg Atkinson. Great people walking around a huge convention center, looking at the latest in technology. Spring Media Coming Soon

We spent some time last week at the flower fields in Carlsbad, Ca. shooting both motions and stills. We are working hard to get these out this week so that you can have some worship media for the spring season. To see some pics of the shoot click HERE.

Yes...FortyOneTwenty has ventured out beyond this blog to bring you pics of all the goings-on around here. For our first go at it...we just finished pre and post production on a new mini-movie called "Through The Storm". I think we uploaded like 20+ images. This was a fun shoot because we had the challenging task of making it rain and making it really look like rain. I think it worked out pretty good. So if you get some time, take a look.

New Easter Media!

We just uploaded new Easter media to the site. There's a lot to choose from this year. We've worked hard to bring you 12 stills and 14 motions that should be a great creative resource to you and your ministry. We have them available in HD as well, so if you're church is using widescreen media send us an email (support@fortyonetwenty.com) and we'll help you purchase the HD versions.

On a side note: We had our first FortyOneTwenty retreat this past weekend! We went up to Irvine and had a great time just hanging out and getting away for a couple days. I wish I could say we have pics to show you...but we don't.

HD Is Upon Us!

We just purchased a new HD camera yesterday. It's been a huge goal of ours ever since we started FortyOneTwenty to upgrade to High Defenition video in order to future proof all the content we create. A lot of church media producers are already shooting in this format...so we've got some catching up to do. We understand that the majority of churches aren't there yet, but our hope is that when they do get there we will be waiting with the HD resources they need.

Recently in their Jan/Feb 08 issue we were nominated as one of the best church media producers of 2007! Pretty cool, and we think 2008 is going to be even better. While you enjoyed eggnog and confetti, our team was hard at work combing through the site and your suggestions for just the right upgrades to bring fortyonetwenty.com into 2008. There are a lot of new updates and products that have been added to the site, this is what we've worked so hard to bring you this new year...

-7 new products compiled into a bundle called "The Cross".
-New icons that bring a more slim-lined look to the site.
-A new feature that allows users to add video to their "My Favorites" to save and view later.
-Users can now review media they've used or just really like.
-Download expiration went from 24 hours to 1 month.
-You can now use social bookmarking to share products with others.

The Churchy Media Podcast

Just a quick post to tell you about a new podcast that's out there for those of you involved in media/audio at your church. It's called The Churchy Media Podcast, and from listening to the first episode it's very professionally done. They have committed to bringing you the latest in new media for the church, and also some helpful tips here and there. So if you have some extra time...check it out.

New Christmas Media

Finally, we have Christmas content to go with our cool Christmas look! We have a ton of stills and motions, and even some choices in the mini-movies category. One thing I think is cool is the Spanish version of "The Perfect Gift". If you know of any Spanish churches out there, drop them a line and tell them to check it out. If not...maybe you should get to know more Spanish speaking people. Just a thought.

New Christmas Look

If you're reading this you've probably already seen our new look for the site. We thought a new design might be nice for the holidays. Keep an eye out this week for all our Christmas content. We have over 20 stills, 2 mini-movies (hopefully), and some motions (not finished yet) that will be a great resource for your Christmas services.

We want to make sure you see the new site as it should be seen...Christmasy! If for some reason you are still looking at the normal site, please do one of these 3 things:

1. Type in the full address to the site instead of using your bookmark address.
2. Hit refresh on the pages that don't look right.
3. Go to your internet preferences and clear your browsers cache.

Where's The Ending?

Here at FortyOneTwenty we create some of our mini-movies with open endings. That means there is no solid ending in terms of answering questions or concepts that are brought up throughout the video. Lately we have seen some comments on how not answering the tough questions brought up in our video "Anything But Silent" could be harmful to the viewers. Assuming that they watch this on their own...maybe. Now, of coarse we don't want that to happen, but we made some of our media this way for a reason. We believe it's the Pastor's job to get up every Sunday and help his congregation work through tough ideas and questions. We just want to help raise those questions and thoughts in a cool way.

Here are my questions for you:

Do you think you or your pastor would be deterred from using an open ended video?

Should church media help raise these questions and issues, or should we all just keep making Mother's Day type videos that make everyone feel warm and comfortable?

Happy Thanksgiving

All of us here at FortyOneTwenty wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much. Just try to remember how you felt last year after the big meal...you wouldn't do that to yourself again would you? Enjoy the time off too. My family and I are headed to Vegas for this Thanksgiving holiday. Why, you say? Because they've never seen it, and it's at least worth seeing.

We are working hard to bring you great Christmas media. Hopefully we will have everything available on the site by the end of next week.
